Frequently Asked Questions

There are several different types of Employer Sponsored visa streams in Australia. At VIS Health, we assist our pharmacy industry clients in finding qualified employees from overseas primarily through the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa (Subclass 482).

For more information on this visa, visit here

If you are looking to apply with us, you must meet the below criteria:

  • Must have completed a bachelor’s degree or related studies in pharmacy.
Must have a minimum of 4 years of full-time experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Must have passed the KAPS/OPRA exam and received a positive skills assessment outcome from the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC).
  • Must have provisional AHPRA registration or be eligible and willing to apply for one.
  • English language test score: Overall 7, with a minimum of 6 in each band.
  • Age: Must be under 40 years.
  • Passport validity: a minimum of 4-5 years

We have pharmacy employer clients throughout Australia. If you are selected by any of our employer clients, you will most likely be working in a regional area of Australia, such as the Northern Territory.

There are several benefits to working in regional areas compared to popular destinations like Sydney and Melbourne:

  • Working in regional areas provides pathways to permanent residency, which can be more challenging to achieve if working in major metropolitan areas such as Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
  • You can save more due to the lower cost of living and more affordable lifestyle.
  • Enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle.
  • There is often greater demand for your skills and less competition.
  • Regional employers are usually more supportive.

Unlike other standalone visas such as visitor or student or training visa, employer sponsored visas require approval from many layers of labour, commerce and government bodies.

The entire process of 482 visa usually takes approximately 6 months. However, this duration may vary depending on the complexity, completeness of the provided application as well as their application processing volume.

Prior to your actual interview with the employer, you will receive a training session from our experts who will mentor you and brief you on everything you need to know about the employer and the role.
The job interview will generally be conducted via a Zoom conference call. However, the interview format and the number of interviews may vary at the discretion of the employing company’s hiring committee.
Additional benefits and perks, such as accommodation arrangements, will depend on each employer. While we work on behalf of both the employer and the employee and may request such arrangements, the final decision will be entirely based on the employing company’s policy.
Your salary will be determined by the average market rate for your position as well as the company’s policy. It will be clearly stated in your job offer letter.
